Resources for Home Devotion and Prayer
During times of uncertainty, the people of God pray. Prayer begins with God speaking to His people, and the faithful response back to Him in supplication, praise, and thanksgiving. For those who are home, this is no different. To assist and provide some resources and guidance for those at home, here are some resources and ideas.
+++ Bible: Read your Bible, stay in God's Word. This season of Lent we have been focusing upon the Penitential Psalms. This is perfect time to pray these words, and learn to pray from God Himself. Schedule of praying the psalms can be found here or in LSB page 304.
+++ Lutheran Service Book: This can be used at home for family devotions, prayer, and song. If you do not not have a personal copy, you may borrow one from the church. The Weekly Sunday Lectionary (1 Year) can be found on page xx or by clicking here, and Daily Lectionary on pages 299-304, or by clicking here. Ideas on how to use LSB for home devotions can be found here.
+++ Treasury of Daily Prayer: This devotional book contains the readings of the Daily Lectionary from LSB, short devotions, prayers, psalms, and hymns. The Church has a few copies remaining for purchase. There is also an app called PrayNow. Search in your app store for "PrayNow."
+++ April-June edition of Portals of Prayer are available in the church office. Digital editions can also be purchased online at https://www1.cph.org/portals/default.aspx.
